Cornish storyteller Sam Crosby tells the ancient story of Tristan and Iseult.
With simple, guided practices, we’ll gather in the glow of the story, the energy of our own lives and the times we’re living through. Each week, as we go further into the chaotic, bubbling caverns of the story, we’ll recall the images together. By the end of the five-session series (two story sessions, a way-stop guided by Asher Packman, followed by two more story sessions) you will know the tale well enough to carry it yourself.
This is the story that obsessed medieval Europe and inspired Shakespeare to write Romeo and Juliet.
It’s a tale of deep water told by a storyteller who inhabits the land it rose from, and who will be tending to the roots of the story by simultaneously walking its Cornish trackways and sleeping in sanctuaries in pilgrimage with other men.
It is not an easy story. It’s taken us a long time to get to here. The next best thing is to jump in.
