Meditations on Inanna & Gilgamesh

A$49.00

Storytellers Uma Neave and Asher Packman bring to life the first ever love stories, etched into cuneiform tablets as epic poems written in Akkadian by the Sumerians almost 4000 years ago.

Forming the centrepiece of ancient Mesopotamian mythology, the stories of Inanna and Gilgamesh remain as compass points orienting us toward a life of depth and meaning.

In the words of mythologist and storyteller Martin Shaw: “Whether it is Gilgamesh carving a throne from a tree for Inanna, or sending a lover to sedate Enkidu, both stories are partially to do with humans renegotiating the terms with the earth around them, and through that, the gods themselves. These stories are an axis between the aboriginal and the so-called civilised worlds”.

Session #1: The Descent of Inanna
Session #2: The Epic of Gilgamesh
Session #3: Meeting With The Wild One (with special guest Walton Stanley)
Session #4: Putting Your Ear To The Ground

This series is free to members of The Fifth Direction. For more information, visit here.

NOTE: Upon purchase, a website link and password will be sent to your email inbox.
